You are correct! The Greek word Jesus uses is "ethne", translated into English as "nations." If this sounds more like our word "ethnic" to you -- you are right. Jesus has commanded us to take the Gospel to all people groups or ethnicities -- the real meaning of the Bible's use of "nations"!  There are about 24,000 ethnic groupings in our world. These “nations” can bind the political nations together – or tear them apart.  Countries come and go, but people groups endure.
